The Pyrojin MSW-to-electricity pyrolysis equipment converts urban waste into usable electricity. It processes mixed municipal solid waste - organic matter, plastics, textiles and more - through anaerobic medium-temperature pyrolysis, turning the waste into pyrolysis oil, combustible gas and recyclables. The oil and gas are then used for power generation, while by-products such as metals are recovered and recycled. The result is a waste-reduction rate over 90% and a stable electricity output that can supplement local grids.

How an MSW-to-Electricity Pyrolysis System Works

  1. Mixed MSW (organic matter, plastics, textiles) is fed continuously through a sealed, negative-pressure system.
  2. The waste is heated under anaerobic, medium-temperature pyrolysis conditions with no oxygen contact.
  3. Pyrolysis vapour is separated into pyrolysis oil (liquid) and combustible gas (non-condensable).
  4. The oil and gas are used for power generation; metals and other recyclables are recovered.
  5. Non-condensable gas is cleaned and recycled to the furnace, making the system energy self-sufficient.
  6. Flue gas is treated through alkali neutralisation and an adsorption tower, and residue is discharged through a water-cooled screw conveyor.

Series capacity covers 20-50 t/d; PC-30/40/50 are the three standard models. Main reactor runs at slight negative pressure, horizontal rotation 0.3 rpm, circulating-water cooling, noise ≤85 dB, installation footprint approx. 50 m × 20 m, 1-2 operators per shift.

Outputs: Electricity, Pyrolysis Oil, Gas and Recyclables

  • Electricity - stable output to supplement local grids or captive use.
  • Pyrolysis oil - recovered liquid fuel.
  • Combustible gas - recycled for process heat and power generation.
  • Recyclables - metals and other by-products are recovered and recycled.

  • Self-powered gas recycling cutting about 50% of external energy use.
  • Automatic cleaning system for furnace and condenser coke removal.
  • Auto-nitrogen safety system and centralised control console.
  • Lean-manning automation (1-2 operators per shift).

Continuous vs Batch Waste-to-Energy

Continuous (PC)Batch (PB)
Scale≥10,000 t/year≈3,000 t/year
Operation24/7Single furnace per day
AutomationHigh (1-2 operators)Moderate manpower
FeedstockMixed MSW (organic/plastics/textiles)Sorted / smaller volumes

Choose continuous for grid-connected or round-the-clock power projects; choose batch for smaller, modular needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What waste can be processed? Mixed MSW including organic matter, plastics and textiles.
  • How much waste is reduced? Over 90%, avoiding landfill pollution.
  • What are the outputs? Pyrolysis oil, combustible gas, recyclables (e.g. metals) and electricity.
  • What is the delivery time? The delivery schedule and departure port are confirmed in the commercial quotation.
  • What payment methods do you accept? Mainly T/T; other methods on request.
  • Are you a factory or a trading company? We operate our own factory in Shangqiu, Henan, China.
  • What is the warranty? Warranty, installation, training and maintenance support are defined in the supply contract.
  • What information do I need for an energy-balance review? Feed composition, daily volume and the intended electricity use.

Request an Energy-Balance Review

Send your feed composition, daily volume and intended electricity use, and a Pyrojin engineer will prepare a complete energy-balance review and line configuration.

Integrated waste-to-energy system

Evaluate the complete energy balance before configuration

A pyrolysis-to-electricity project links optional sorting or integrated mixed-feed handling and thermal conversion with gas or oil utilization and power-generation equipment. Feasibility depends on tested feed composition, recovered energy, parasitic load, local grid or captive-use conditions and emission controls.
